Bug Reports

What to report

You can help make VidProv better by providing quality feedback on the user experience.

Please report even minor problems. If something weird happens, tell me.

if there are typos or other errors in text, messages, or this website, please let me know.

Before reporting a bug, please check the list of current issues.

Who should make report

It is preferable that the room owner gather the necessary data and forward it to me.

Report details

For more serious problems, such as video not working, or error messages, I need to know...

  • the time and date (plus your timezone);
  • exactly what error message (if any) you see;
  • what browser and operating system you are on;
  • if clearing the cache and refreshing or other measures helped;

If someone get bumped out unexpectedly, it's also helpful to know how long you were on before that happened, if it happens more than once, etc.

It is very important that you provide as much information as possible about any errors that occur.

Ideally, include a screenshot of any error message, or at a very minimum write down the text of the error message. You should also note where / when in the system you had the problem - context! Did it happen straight away, or did it work for 1 hour and then suddenly you got bumped? Timing is everything.

Also, note any efforts you made to solve the problem yourself, and whether they succeeded. See more info below.

Console log

Even more info can be found in the log of the developer console of your browser. There are some simple steps to capture this information in a file that you can send to me.
